I had to share this post as it really feels like this post hits true for digital strategies and more even for digital transformations. (I was about to write a post soon and have a draft on business process and analysis key role in business transformations and change). For most digital and automation strategies and transformations, everything starts with an understanding of processes within the organization at its core and the value and purpose of each process.
Right now companies want to be data-driven but there can often be bias in data when generated from each individual. I have helped many organizations look at automating solutions but many struggle to understand every nuance of their processes and this is where great risk comes in automation. Ultimately process must provide some type of value and if able to be automated often decisions still need to be made and understanding the process behind decisions is important. Successful digital transformations main key is process mining.
